The series "Azores Brand World," an initiative of the Regional Government under the strategy for the promotion of Azorean products, will be broadcast from Saturday, January 13, on "Gente da Nossa TV," a programme exhibited by Canadian TV network, City TV.
This magazine, which is the only Portuguese-spoken television programme on Canadian television, has been aired since 1989. It is broadcast on a weekly basis and has thousands of viewers, reaching the provinces of Newfoundland and British Columbia, and, more recently, Bermuda.
The series "Azores Brand World" is an initiative promoted by the Vice-Presidency of the Government of the Azores, through SDEA - Society for Business Development of the Azores. It began in April 2017 with the launch of the first season of 40 programmes.
Each programme shows all the production components of various products in the agri-food sector as well as the daily activities of the services and establishments that have adhered to the Azores Brand in various companies throughout the archipelago.
The "Azores Brand World" began to be broadcast on SDEA's digital channels. It was later included in the programme schedule of the Portuguese Chanel in the USA and, now, in schedule of City TV in Canada.
With the airing of this series in different media, the Regional Government enhances customer loyalty and access to new markets, the expansion of exports and the reinforcement of competitiveness among Azorean companies.
The immediate identification of products bearing the "Azores Brand" seal and the wide knowledge of production methods that confer the "Certified by Nature" certificate are another means to stimulate consumers' preference for regional products, thus contributing to employment creation and wealth generation.
