The Vice-President mentioned today the latest "Business Barometer" to highlight the fact that 597 new companies started their activity in the Azores in the last 12 months.
Sérgio Ávila stressed that this represents "a ratio of four companies for each company that closed down."
"If we compare with the national average, where the ratio in the same period is 2.3 and is even lower in Madeira, standing at 1.9, it becomes evident that we are boosting economic recovery in 2015," said the government official.
Sérgio Ávila spoke at the signing ceremony of an agreement with INSCO, through which this company sell more products bearing the Azores Brand Seal, with special emphasis on meat products.
For Sérgio Ávila, the data on business renewal reveal that the Region has effectively increased economic recovery "and with significantly higher standards, in terms of absolute figures and percentages, compared to the national average."
