Government of the Azores extends repayment period of support under Employment Promotion Programme
The Government of the Azores extended the repayment period for the loan taken by beneficiaries companies under the Employment Promotion Programme.
The Vice-President of the Government stressed that this measure "reinforces the support to companies that have kept jobs," taking into consideration that the maintenance of jobs by the end of 2013 was a prerequisite for the allocation of support.
"These companies would now have to begin the repayment of the loan. However, the Government decided to extend the grace period of this year for another year," stressed Sérgio Ávila. In this context, the government official added that the Government wanted to provide an "additional stimulus towards the maintenance of these jobs by March next year so that companies may benefit from a grace period of two years."
According to the Vice-President, "the Government creates and reinforces incentives to the companies that achieve the goal of maintaining, at least, their net level of employment."
