Azorean companies in the agri-food sector will participate in a trade mission to the United States of America that takes place between September 26 and 28.
The mission is a joint initiative of the Portuguese Business Association (AEP) and the Government of the Azores, through the Vice-Presidency, and is being developed by the Society for Business Development of the Azores (SDEA) and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Azores.
The mission is intended the disseminate and promote Azorean products with U.S. importers and distributors, providing Azorean companies with the opportunity to establish privileged contacts in a priority market, as is the case of the U.S.market.
The initiative falls within the Annual Plan for Trade and Business Missions - Açores Export 2016. It aims to expand exports and, consequently, increase the competitiveness and productivity of the Azorean business sector.
The United States is home to the largest Azorean emigrant community and there is a history longstanding relations between this country and the Azores. The U.S. market comprises 320 million consumers as well as several internationally renowned companies. Its internal market has a strong purchasing power, being an excellent market for the trade of goods and services.
The scheduling and preparation of business meetings planned for this trade mission are being provided by local consultants with expertise in the agri-food sector.
