The Government of the Azores, through the Vice-Presidency, will allocate 200 thousand to support 130 craft projects, representing a global investment over 374 thousand Euros.
The projects that applied to Incentive Scheme for the Development of the Azores Handicrafts this year comprise several areas, ranging from training to innovation of craft products.
Hence, the support allocated under SidArt to training projects involving a total investment of about 12 thousand Euros will exceed six thousand Euros.
As for the promotion of the sector, a global investment of 22 thousand Euros corresponds to a governmental support over 11,500 thousand Euros.
For the investment projects of craft production units, which amount to 254 thousand Euros, the financial support will reach 135 thousand Euros.
With regard to the qualification and innovation of craft products, the projects submitted represent a total investment of about 85 thousand Euros and will benefit from a financial contribution of about 45 thousand Euros.
The Incentive Scheme for the Development of the Azores Handicraft was created with the aim of promoting the sustainable development of craft activities in the regional economy, through a series of measures that assure the coherence of the incentive system.
With the allocation of support to handicrafts, the Regional Government will implement one of the measures provided in the Agenda for Employment Creation and Business Competitiveness.
