Government promotes training course under Azores Entrepreneurship Programme on Faial
The Government of the Azores, through the Vice-Presidency, promotes another training course under the Azores Entrepreneurship Programme in the city of Horta, Faial Island, on June 16.
The initiative falls within a series of similar training activities that have been organised in several municipalities of the Azores in order to encourage business start-ups by the unemployed with a basic skills diploma (9th form) that are registered at Regional Employment Centres. It is also targeted at youngsters included in the projects developed by the Regional Directorate for Youth, who are interested in developing activities within the creative industries.
Moreover, these training courses, developed in conjunction with the Regional Centre for Handicrafts, aim to provide support to entrepreneurs in the craft industry as well as to owners of micro and small companies.
The Azores Entrepreneurship programme consists of five modules and has a total workload of 60 hours. After completing this free training course, those who are interested may develop their business plan within six months and, subsequently, implement their project with personalised support over a period of 12 months.
The initiative is developed by the Society for the Business Development of the Azores (SDEA) in partnership with Cresaçor and the Regional Directorate for Employment and Vocational Training. Under this programme, participants will acquire knowledge on the business sector that will allow them to seize the economic potential of the endogenous resources of the Azores.
