Intermunicipal delegation from Northern Portugal visits the Region to know success of "Azores Brand"
The success of the "Azores Brand" strategy as a new territorial brand designed to increase business opportunities for Azorean companies and promote regional goods and services among buyers and consumers nationwide is achieving national recognition. In the context, a delegation from the Intermunicipal Community of Trás-Os-Montes (CITTM) visits the Region between September 26 and 28. It is composed of the mayors of the municipal councils of Alfandega da Fé, Macedo de Cavaleiros, Miranda do Douro, Mirandela, Mogadouro and Vila Flor, the deputy mayors of the municipal councils of Bragança and Vinhais, a member of the municipal council of Vimioso and representatives of various associations.
The visit programme includes meetings with the Vice-President of the Government, Sérgio Ávila, on Wednesday, September 26, at the Capitães Generais Palace in Angra do Heroísmo at 10 AM. There are also scheduled meetings with the regional companies that have jointed the "Azores Brand."
CITTM has conveyed its interest in undertaking this visit to the Azores, which was readily welcomed by the Regional Government, with the aim of becoming better acquainted with the rules and procedures adopted in the implementation of the brand, both in terms of institutional and business aspects.
The delegation will have the opportunity to acquire a detailed knowledge on the legislation stipulating the "Azores Brand," membership procedures, control systems and promotional events organised at national and international level in close partnership with Azorean entrepreneurs and companies.
SDEA - Society for Business Development of the Azores, as managing entity, will provide specific training on the principles and procedures underpinning the "Azores Brand" strategy.
Established in 2015 by the Government of the Azores, the "Azores Brand" is a tool of utmost importance in gaining access and conquering the loyalty of new markets under a strategy designed towards the improvement of the competitiveness of regional economy.
Currently, there are more than three thousand products services and establishments bearing the "Azores Brand" label and a total of 177 member companies. According to a survey, they have registered a 22 percent increase in sales since joining the brand."
