By order of the Vice-President of the Government of the Azores, Lina Maria Cabral de Freitas was appointed Regional Labour Inspector, replacing Carlos Maia, who left office at his request.
The new Inspector, who takes up her duties immediately, is 46 years old and was born on the island of Pico. She holds a degree in Law from the University of Coimbra.
Lina Freitas has held the position of senior technician at the Regional Secretariat for Health and assistant to the cabinets of the Regional Secretary of the Presidency, the Regional Secretary for Social Affairs and the President of the Legislative Assembly of the Autonomous Region of the Azores.
The new Regional Labour Inspector has also served as representative of the Regional Deputy Secretary of the Presidency at the Euro Committee of the Autonomous Region of the Azores and as representative of the Regional Deputy Secretary of the Presidency at the Commission on the Compensation of Insularity Costs.
