NONAGON - S. Miguel Science and Technology Park has just been awarded the EU|BIC quality by the European Business Innovation Center Network (EBN).
Thus, NONAGON joins a restricted group of certified organisations that, within their resources, namely added-value services, promote, encourage and streamline the development of innovation in start-ups and SMEs at any stage of development, through a comprehensive incubation process.
The EU | BIC are focused on the creation of new innovative companies and/or on the development of existing companies with the aim of contributing to economic development, competitiveness, employment and growth in the influence area.
The EU | BIC insignia is the only officially certified accreditation at international level as the standard for the support of business incubation and acceleration, based on innovation. It certifies that the organisation bearing this seal is able to ensure the delivery of resources and services to entrepreneurs and/or consolidated SMEs, which should be suited to their stage of development in order to meet the identified innovation needs.
EBN is the only organisation authorised by the European Commission to grant the EU | BIC accreditation and, despite being based in Brussels, its scope and recognition extends to other areas such as North America, South America, Africa, Middle East and Asia.
This is an international non-profit association of business incubators that include innovation centres, clusters and other intermediaries supporting innovative start-ups and SMEs in developing their business activities.
Among the 250 member organisations, 150 are accredited as EU | BIC. Currently, there are only eight EU | BIC associations in Portugal.
