Nova de Gaia City Council visited the Region to learn about the Azores Brand project
A delegation from Vila Nova de Gaia City Council visited the Region with the aim of knowing on the spot the success of the Azores Brand strategy, implemented by the Regional Government, both in its institutional and business components.
In this context, the representatives of that municipality from Northern Portugal, accompanied by SDEA - Society for Business Development of the Azores, the brand managing entity, had the opportunity to become better acquainted with several areas, namely the membership process, auditing, legislation and the promotion of the strategy.
The programme included visits to several companies that have joined the Azores brand, in addition to an information session.
This was the second visit to the Region made by municipal entities with the purpose of learning about the Azores brand strategy.
The Intermunicipal Community of Trás-Os-Montes (CIM-TTM) has also recently visited the archipelago and plans to implement a brand in its territory that will be inspired by the success of the Azores Brand.
The Azores Brand was created in 2015 within the Azorean Agenda for Employment and Business Competitiveness, through the Vice-Presidency of the Government. It has since become an important tool in accessing markets and conquering their loyalty.
This brand has generated added value to regional products and services in the context of an important strategy towards differentiation, promotion and increase of the competitiveness of the regional economy.
Currently, more than 3,000 products, services and establishments bear the Azores Brand seal, making up a total of 181 adherent companies, which have confirmed that the strategy contributed to a 22% increase in sales.
