The Government of the Azores, through the Vice-Presidency, will allocate more than 240 thousand Euros to 142 projects to be developed in the area of handicrafts, which represent a global investment exceeding 447 thousand Euros.
The projects that applied to Incentive Scheme for the Development of the Azores Handicrafts this year comprise several areas, ranging from training to innovation of craft products.
For training projects involving a global investment of more than six thousand Euros, the co-payment under SIDART will exceed three thousand Euros.
As for the revitalisation of the sector, a global investment of around 29 thousand Euros corresponds to a governmental contribution of about 15 thousand Euros.
For investment projects of craft production units, which amount to 312 thousand Euros, the financial contributions amount to more than 169 thousand Euros.
In the area of qualification and innovation of craft products, projects representing an overall investment of around 101 thousand Euros have applied to this incentive system, which will have a governmental financial contribution of around 54 thousand euros.
The Incentive Scheme for the Development of the Azores Handicraft was created with the aim of promoting the sustainable development of craft activities in the regional economy, through a series of measures that assure the coherence of the incentive system.
By granting support to handicrafts, the Regional Government implements one of the measures stipulated in the Azorean Agenda for Employment Creation and Business Competitiveness.
