The Government of the Azores, through the Vice-Presidency, promoted the participation of regional companies at the SIAL fair that ends today in Toronto, Canada. The entrepreneurs participating in the fair made a very positive assessment regarding the business opportunities created in this event for Azorean agri-food products.
The Azores stand, the only national collective space to be featured at the fair, raised the interest of buyers. It was also visited by the European Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, Phil Hogan.
One of the most relevant professional events in the food sector, SIAL Toronto registers more than 15 thousand professional visitors in a space featuring 930 exhibitors from 60 countries.
This participation of Azorean companies in the agri-food sector, under the Azores Export 2017 Plan, is an excellent opportunity to conquer new markets and customers as well as to intensify the marketing of Azorean products in the North American market.
SIAL also provided a variety of activities and conferences held by professionals of acknowledged competence, workshops and key purchaser programmes.
These activities distinguish this event, highlighting it as the largest food innovation fair in North America.
