The Government of the Azores starts the training course "Azores Entrepreneurship" in the month of March, an initiative that aims to provide students with a wide range of knowledge on business in order to harness the economic potential of endogenous resources in the Region.
The courses begin in Ponta Delgada and there are scheduled courses to take place in Maia (also on São Miguel Island), Angra do Heroísmo and Praia da Vitória (Terceira Island) and Madalena (Pico Island).
The initiative is targeted at unemployed individuals who hold a basic education diploma (9th form), young people integrated in the projects developed by the Regional Directorate for Youth who are interested in developing projects within creative industries, businesspeople linked to craft industry in coordination with the Regional Centre for Handicrafts, and entrepreneurs who own micro and small companies.
With free admission sessions, the training course provided "Azores Entrepreneurship" consists of five modules and has a total workload of 60 hours.
After completing the training course, those who are interested will six months to develop their business plan and then implement it with personalised support over a one-year period.
The "Azores Entrepreneurship" programme is developed by Government of the Azores, through the Society for the Business Development of the Azores (SDEA) and in partnership with CRESAÇOR and the Regional Directorate for Employment and Vocational Training.
