The Vice-President of the Government revealed today that unemployment reduced 40 percent on Pico in just three years, highlighting the business dynamics registered by this island.
"This new business momentum on Pico means that today there are 40 percent fewer unemployed people on the island compared to just three years ago," said Sérgio Ávila.
The Vice-President for Employment and Business Competitiveness spoke at the end of his visit to a company, stating that the creation of "hundreds of new jobs" is associated with "developing new business projects" that seize "new business opportunities."
"This company, which began its activity in January this year, has already ensured the creation of seven new jobs," Sérgio Ávila said, pointing out this example as a reference to the company that he visited under the programme of the Regional Government's statutory to the Azores.
