Regional Directorate for Sea Affairs has ongoing process for coastal protection project in Rabo de Peixe
The Regional Directorate for Sea Affairs has ongoing procedures for the definition of coastal protection works of Rabo de Peixe cliff on S. Miguel. It has already sent invitations to companies for the submission of a study on the intervention to be carried out.
The deadline for submission of proposals ends Monday, September 21.
This work will be critical to the coastal protection and redevelopment interventions in Rabo de Peixe cliff.
The Regional Directorate for Sea Affairs will also move forward with the construction of the protection wall near the crest of Rabo de Peixe cliff where some garages were demolished due to the risk of collapsing, according to the recommendations issued on the report of the Regional Civil Engineering Laboratory.
The construction of the wall is part of the redevelopment project of the municipal road, which will be set by the city hall of Ribeira Grande. In turn, the Regional Directorate is awaiting the release of information on the interventions to be carried out in that place.
Until then, and for safety reasons, the access to the cliff remains closed.
