The Azores stand at the International Food and Drinks Sector Fair (SISAB), which is taking place at Pavilhão Atlântico in Lisbon until February 19, will feature 30 regional companies. This is the largest presence ever of the archipelago at an event that is considered to be the "annual meeting point" for the export of national food and drinks.
"This is an excellent opportunity for our companies to promote our products, with special emphasis on their quality and unique characteristics, as SISAB is visited by over 1,600 international buyers from 110 countries," said the Regional Secretary for Natural Resources, who participated in the opening session of SISAB on Monday.
During the first day of SISAB, Luís Neto Viveiros visited the Azores stand, highlighting the considerable where the stand is installed and its prime location as well as the "positive expectations" raised by regional representatives.
"I had the opportunity to exchange views with the heads of regional companies represented at the event and I was pleased to note the positive business expectations raised by our representatives on this business event," said the Regional Secretary.
For Luís Neto Viveiros, there are several "reasons" that support the expectations of Azorean entrepreneurs and companies in the fisheries and aquaculture sectors due to the quality and differentiating features of their products, either natural or processed; their quality is evidenced by certification awarded to several products and the national and international prizes.
The Azores stand congregates export companies linked to the processing sectors of meat, dairy, fish, preserves, liqueurs, wines, beers, traditional confectionery, honey and other agri-food products.
The Government, through the Society for the Business Development of the Azores (SDEA) in partnership with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Azores, has supported the participation of regional companies with the aim of promoting Azorean products with export capacity and their business potential.
