The Government of the Azores, through the Vice-Presidency, will organise, in conjunction with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Azores, the second edition of AçorExpo, an event that aims to promote, enhance and intensify the consumption of Azorean products.
With an area of 1,400 square metres, the fair, which takes place at "Pavilhão do Mar" on September 25-28, features 60 stands for Azorean companies.
"The AçorExpo is one of the many promotional events of the Strategic Plan for the Promotion and Enhancement of Azorean Products. This measure aims to disseminate regional production in a national and international context," said the Vice-President of the Government.
Sergio Avila stressed that this Strategic Plan "comprises international, national and regional events as well as the organisation of reverse business missions and promotional events in supermarkets. It also includes an external component that will focus on the 'gourmet sector' with activities in specialty shops in Lisbon and Boston."
The Vice-President also emphasised that this year's edition of "AçorExpo coincides with the arrival of a cruise ship during the four-day fair. This will allow us to achieve better results in terms of the promotion of regional products among tourists."
According to Sérgio Ávila, this fair is also directed to local consumers. "It aims to intensify the consumption of local products and, above all, provide new business and promotional opportunities in order to create more jobs and wealth in the Azores."
