Regional Civil Protection Emergency Plan already submitted for opinion to partner entities, announces Rui Luís
The Regional Secretary for Health announced in Ponta Delgada that the Regional Civil Protection Emergency Plan has been completed since the end of March and has already been submitted for opinion to the agents of the sector.
"This plan was one of the Regional Government's priorities and we are here to demonstrate that it is ready and about to enter the consultation phase," said Rui Luís. He spoke after being heard at the Committee on General Policy of the Legislative Assembly.
The revision of this plan took place over a year. After the opinion of partner entities, the document enters into public consultation and, at a later phase, it will be approved by the Council of the Government.
"We are waiting for an answer so that we may proceed to public consultation in accordance with legal provisions. We believe the plan will be approved by the Council of the Government in May," said the government official.
Rui Luís stated that the revision of this plan is a priority, emphasising, however, that Civil Protection services have responded to all occurrences in the Region.
"The Regional Government demonstrates today that the measure concerning the update of the emergency plan was listed in the Government's Programme presented in the 2016 elections. As such, the works began in early 2017 and the plan was completed in the first quarter of 2018," stressed the Regional Secretary.
