The Regional Secretariat for Education and Training has launched a contest, through the Regional Directorate for Education and Training, for the creation of the Mascot for the Regional Reading Plan (RRP).
The contest, which precedes the implementation of the Regional Reading Plan in Azorean schools, is addressed at students attending elementary schools integrated in the regional public educational system and is intended to collect proposals for the image and name of the mascot to be use in promotional campaigns of the Regional Reading Plan.
The drawings and the names will be assessed separately and a winner will be selected in each category.
The winning design will be awarded a money prize in the amount of 500 Euros to be used to purchase of school supplies for the winner(s) while the winning name will receive a money prize in the amount of 250 Euros, which will be also used to purchase school supplies for its author.
The works, which will be evaluated by a jury composed by five members, two of whom are art education teachers, must be sent by email (scanned in the case of handcrafts) to the address [email protected], under the subject RRP Mascot Contest – (school name), until June 27.
The winners will be announced until the July12 on the Portal of Education at www.edu.azores.gov.pt (Projects > Regional Reading Plan).
The contest rules have been sent to the schools across the archipelago and are also available on the Portal of Education.
