The President of the Government stated in Ponta Delgada that Sweden is a tourism market where the Region wants to continue working, taking into account its importance to the development of this sector.
"Although it already had a more significant weight in the tourism markets for the Azores, the Swedish market is still very important today," stressed Vasco Cordeiro. The President of the Government spoke after receiving in audience the new Consul of Sweden in the Azores, Nuno Raposo.
The President of the Regional Government recalled that this market was one that contributed to the growth of the regional tourism sector, considering that the Government should continue working on this destination in order to attract tourists with an appetite for a nature and active tourism destination.
In this regard, Vasco Cordeiro stressed that, while the beginning of the operation between Sweden and the Azores was based on a single tour operator, currently the new air accessibility model is also reflected on the way tourists choose to come to the Region.
