Restructuring of the Regional Health Service provides annual reduction of 4.1 million Euros in financial costs
The Council of the Government approved the restructuring of the Regional Health Service, which will provide annual reduction of 4.1 million Euros in financial costs.
The decision was announced today by the Regional Assistant Secretary of the Presidency for Parliamentary Affairs during the presentation of the press release from the Council of the Government, held in Madalena.
"These savings, which are result of the significant reduction in interest rates at financial markets, allow us to secure a reduction over four million Euros in financial costs, without increasing the regional debt," said Isabel Rodrigues.
In order to achieve this goal, the Government authorised the renewal of the bank guarantees amounting to 63 million Euros that were granted to Saudaçor and regional hospitals. These guarantees will ensure a decrease of interest rates by 50 percent over existing loans and will not have any impact on the current debt.
Taking into account the reduction of interest rates in markets, the subsequent savings and the opportunity for the Region to refinance itself this year, without increasing the regional debt, the Government has also approved a 19-million Euro loan, to be granted by Caixa Geral de Depósitos, in order to repay the loan granted by the National Government in 2012.
